Guideline for Using DNA Sequencing Service:
 
 
1.    Prospect users: Users must be either an NHRI full-time research staff or an NHRI-supported student to be eligible for using the service. Users must have a valid NHRI email account for receiving service results or reports.
2.    Schedule of Turnaround time:

*Results retrieving day may vary in case of heavy workload, unexpected downtimes, repairs or any force majeure. In case of need, announcement will be made on the website (e-bulletin) for such delays.
 
3.    Dye Terminator Cycle Sequencing Kit (v3.1) is used to perform DNA sequencing reactions, while ABI PRISM 3730x1 DNA Analyzer is followed to perform the capillary electrophoresis analysis.
4.    Average turnaround time is estimated 2 business days, when the equipment functions properly. Result retrieving time may vary due to workload and priority setting or schedule arrangements.
5.    To facilitate account recording, users must provide project/budget account numbers when submit samples for processing. The application form shall be signed by principal investigators who are responsible to pay for the cost incurred.

For sample units more than 10 plates but less than 50 plates, the service will be completed within 2 months.
1 GC-rich template will need special handling on reagents and reaction conditions. Cost is relatively higher.
2An additional NT$1000 will be charged per plate if the 96-well-plate samples are PCR products and need the Core to add enzyme to remove the primers.
3When submitting samples in a full, 96-well plate, 95 wells will be maximum, leaving one for standard reaction.
4Using the Analyzer instrument for data analyzing, the maximum holding capacity is 96 samples per plate.
5For fragment analysis, if the sample numbers is less than 60, the cost will be NT$1000 + NT$50 × the submitted sample numbers (n). For example, if there are 36 samples, then the cost will be NT$1000 + NT$50 × 36 = NT$2800. When using this service, samples must be placed on the 96-well plate that is compatible with ABI3730 DNA Analyzer.
 
7.    For fragment analysis and strain identification service, users can use the Core’s computers for analyzing results.
