NHRI Optical Biology Core Facility is scheduled to host a training session for the Nikon N-SIM Super Resolution Microscope System on Oct. 23 and 24. This system nearly doubles the spatial resolution of conventional light microscopes to approximately 115 nm, and enables detailed visualization of minute intracellular structures and their interactions. In addition, this system has TIRF-SIM microscopic imaging technology. Compared with the traditional TIRFM (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscope), it provides more internal reflection fluorescence observation with higher optical resolution, and more detailed information near the cell membrane can be obtained. At present, the system has set up two long working distance lenses (10 times and 20 times) to facilitate long-term living cell observation.
This Nikon Super Analytical Imagery and Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscope System is only open to certified users on their own. Users who want to operate by themselves must participate in this training course, and sign up to attend the on-site demonstration section (3 people in each group, the scheduled time for each group is about 50~60 minutes but it can be adjusted according to the number of applicants). If you have a special demand for the on -site section, please raise it when you register. Users who are planning to use N-SIM microscope independently have to pass two stages of certification before they can operate on their own. The first stage is to attend an education training course or watched a teaching film. The second stage is to be certified on site by the laboratory manager or manufacturer.
